I Love Television
Man, I love tv. I should really watch more of it. You’re not supposed to say that because people will think you’re stupid but thanks to a large and consistent dose of screen time, I now possess an ample knowledge of dated pop culture. I regret not one hour of this. Fortunately, I come with a matching sister. Since her job doesn’t involve narcissistic rhetoric like mine requires, she would go to work and school and I would fill her in on what she missed on television. She got me started on Grey’s Anatomy and that is how I thanked her. I feel that we’re all pretty fortunate that Shonda…

How To Stop Obsessive Thoughts
There are numerous ways we can drive ourselves nuts, hence the entire category dedicated to this subject. I’m not even close to a professional but I can speak from experience. Yes, there are situations that require advanced treatment, even for a short amount of time. You’ll obviously want to follow the advice of the person you are entrusting your care to. This is something else. I’m referring to the breakups, financial issues, and losses that affect just about everyone at some time. And when these things are at the forefront of someone’s mind, it can be challenging to not only be unable to see the bright side of things but…

How To Use An On Screen Keyboard
In my previous tech post, I discussed how I used an on screen keyboard to supplement certain non working keys on my laptop. This is for Windows 7. I’ve looked at other log in screens for different versions of Windows and the icons are similar. I’m sharing what I’ve learned as I go. You can Google “How To Find The On Screen Keyboard” for the kind of computer system you currently use and click on the matching videos or articles. Windows 7 shows an icon in the bottom left that looks like a clock showing 3 o’clock inside a square. Some versions of Windows have this on the bottom left…

Could You “Fix” Your Keyboard?
I’m somewhere in between the smartest and the dumbest person in the world. About a year ago, the number 3 on my laptop stopped working. That’s not a big deal unless you have a password, credit card, phone number, address or birthday. Back then, I needed the number 3 to log in to my computer. Fortunately, and I have no idea how she figured this out, my daughter had me click on an icon on the bottom left part of my log in screen that I thought was either part of the sound system or the thing that would destroy my computer and all of the information inside it. Out…

Save On Organic Groceries With Misfits Market
“Food deliveries are the best part of 2020”, my daughter joked last night. We haven’t been to one store since March and look forward to packages from Amazon in a way that channels the excitement of the Pony Express. Around March, I saw people massively stocking up on pantry items and found myself ordering food from independent vitamin companies that had a few staples. I also purchased cloth napkins. Fortunately, I’ve had my produce delivered from Misfits Market for about two years and found myself relying on their shipments more than ever. I even upgraded to two boxes per week, hoping to bring in more starchy vegetables to add substance…

Supporting Those In Isolation
Many years ago, we befriended an older gentleman who lives near us. He saw me as a single mom who might be in need of his assistance and formally offered his services many times. He volunteered to pick up groceries while going out and slipped an advertisement for an energy efficient heater under the door. He was retired but on the go, traveling around the world, particularly on cruises and was active at the local gym and pool. When he injured himself, his kindness came full circle, as we were given a chance to help someone who would have never asked us for anything. His pride took a hit but…
