I’ve never had the romance with technology that drives people to wait in line all night for the latest phone. In the mid to late eighties, I was generously gifted with an IBM clone computer that stared at me for years. I was able to get through college by going to the computer lab or using a friend’s computer to type papers. Card catalogs, microfiche (you can Google that what that means these days) and librarians at the call desk were how we did our research. I actually received an A in the required computer class but all I remember is the term “lexical elements” and not the actual definition.…
